Join us for our 10th Annual Take Stock in Children 5K and 1 Mile Mentor Walk or Kids' Fun races Sunday, March 3rd at 8:00 am (Kid's event at 7:15 am). Our event benefits Take Stock in Children of Manatee County, Inc. celebrating over 20 years of scholarships, mentors and hope!

Fit2Run will supply chips for our race and we will also have special awards, tons of food and delicious beverages from local restaurants. It’s a family-fun event, so bring your entire family...strollers welcome! Don’t miss the after party featuring local vendors, music, and fun activities along Lakewood Ranch Main street, all included in your registration.

As in past years, we'll be offering our SCHOLARSHIP CHALLENGE! All schools with 300+ registered participants will be awarded a Take Stock Scholarship and Mentor for the qualifying student of their choice! That’s right! Full scholarships will be awarded. So more participants more scholarships!

We welcome your participation either as spectators to cheer on and support the runners, or as a volunteer to assist in this worthwhile healthy charitable endeavor. If you wish to volunteer you can sign up here!

RACE TIMES:

6:00AM – Registration, Lakewood Ranch Main Street

7:15AM – Kid’s Fun (ages 3-12), by the circle

8:00AM – Take Stock 5K  

8:10AM –  Mentor Mile Walk 




How do I register? The easiest and quickest way to register is by signing up and paying on our Race Roster page here. Otherwise you can visit any Fit2Run store and fill out our Registration Flyer.

Where is the registration and the start of the race? 
The start and registration will be on Lakewood Ranch Main Street. We will have lots of signs and people directing.

Are dogs allowed? Yes, dogs are allowed to be in the race, but need to be on a leash.

Are strollers allowed? Yes, strollers are allowed as it is a family fun race!

Is there a 10K this year? No, there is no 10K. There is the 5k, kid’s races, or the Mentor Mile.

Can kids run in the 5k? Absolutely. Anybody can run the 5k. We also have a kids races geared toward 3-12 year olds.

Will I have to pay for parking? Parking is free on race day. There is lots of parking right around the race.

Where can I pick up my packet? 
There are a few options:
Wednesday, February 27th, 12pm-7pm Fit2Run Main Street Location 1400 Main Street, Sarasota
Thursday, February 28th, 12pm-7pm Fit2Run UTC Location (In University Town Center Mall) 140 University Town Center Dr
Friday, March 1st, 12pm-7pm Fit2Run UTC Location (In University Town Center Mall) 140 University Town Center Dr
Saturday, March 2nd, 10am-4pm Fit2Run UTC Location (In University Town Center Mall) 140 University Town Center Dr
Sunday, March 3rd, 6am You can pick up your packet on the day of the event as well 

Can someone else pick up my race packet for me? Yes, you can have someone else pick up your race packet for you. Please have them bring a copy of your race registration.

What if it rains? The race will still be held if it rains. The only possible weather decision would be if there is a lighting, in which we will inform everyone on our social media.

What do I win? The amazingly beautiful commemorative special edition 10th Anniversary Winner’s Medal for Overall Winner, Master, Grand Grand Master, Senior Grand Master, and 5 year age groups from 12-79 as well as more prizes to follow.

If I register for the event, but can’t participate on Race Day, can I receive a refund or transfer my registration? Unfortunately. All registrations are final and registrations can’t be transferred to another participant. Your registration does count toward a donation to Take Stock in Children!

Will there be water stops along the course? Yes, a water station will be located at the turn and water will be provided at the start/finish line.

Is there a bag drop? Yes, there is a bag drop. They can drop off their bags at the separate bag drop near registration. We are not responsible for valuables. Your bib number will be marked on your bag parcel.
